Here’s a quick summary of my credentials.
Experienced Korean/Chinese/English translator.
Specific experience in patent/technical translation for 5 years.
CAT tool: SDL Trados 2019.
I am looking for direct clients in my field, do you guys have any crucial advice?

Thank you.

Hi Sherry Lee,

I don't really know what will work for you, but here are some ideas:

* Create a good, professional-looking internet profile so you can be found - website, LinkedIn, detailed ProZ profile
* Read a few sales/marketing/networking books
* Define your ideal clients: engineering companies? scientists?
* Work out what you can offer these clients that other translators can't
* Go to events where your ideal clients will be and network
* Post regularly on social media where your ideal clients will see you

There is no magic formula for finding clients, you need to figure it out for yourself for your own situation.

What have you tried so far?

Rachel
