Innovations made to Juremy terminology search

Hello, it's been a while since the last entry to this discussion has been made by Robin. As the co-author of Juremy, a lawyer-linguist myself, let me share some thoughts, too.
In the last 12 months we have been working on the execution but also the innovation side of development, and have added among others these new features:
Last november we released a major database update: Treaties and Preparatory Documents (Celex sectors 1 and 5) are also available in addition to sectors 3 and 6 (Legal acts and EU case-law).
Since December, Juremy automatically performs intelligent lookups, for example phrase autocomplete or word stem matching. The new search result interface explicitly states the result category: - exact phrase - auto-completed phrase - exact phrase ignoring accents - stemmed phrase - relaxed word positions (for multi-word expressions).
Relating to the innovation topic raised by Merab: Juremy was not created in the light of or in consideration of Linguee: our main purpose was to facilitate terminology search on Eur-Lex, and to help EU translators' work by providing easy access to identical wording in previously translated texts and referencing, in order to ensure terminological consistency in translations. This way lots of time spent on research can be saved. Of course, we hope that this tool is useful also for translators not working for the EU, as the database consists of revised and official documents.
We would be happy to read your feedback! ▲ Collapse
