I don't allow myself to treat Mondays any differently than any other day. They can be slower, at least in the morning, but then again, I never can tell.
It is important to be ready to face any task when you are available for work.

Like a lot of freelancers I work on weekends, so it sort of takes the edge off of Monday morning. Perhaps, for some freelancers the boundaries of the typical work week are slightly blurred.
One thing I do know is that on Monday mornings, I get my best, most brilliant and creative ideas for what I’d like to do on the weekend. Monday is usually the slowest day of the week in terms of business, with Wednesday and Thursday being the busiest, so this is the day I use for outside appointments.

Nice way of saying we don't really have a typical work week, at least I don't. But I do try to relax during the weekend. I always need a little time to get back in rhythm on Monday morning, and in order to get there I need a lot of coffee too.

Strong coffee is how I cope with any morning, not just Monday.
Monday does start the school week, but with 2 self-employed people in the house, the boundaries of the work week are not as strictly defined as the school week.

It is the only part of the week when I am really on top of things - before the clients wake up! It's great fun to bombard them with all the translations that they desperately wanted me to do for Monday morning on Friday afternoon, and then sit back and see how long it takes them all to wake up and find the translations they wanted, together with all the invoices! It is the most profitable day of the week.

I think it's because I actually took the entire weekend off and didn't even look at any work - I was completely unable to settle to anything this morning. I went for a walk with a friend before lunch, thinking that afterwards I'd have found some motivation. Nope. This afternoon I went for a run and then found myself reorganising the utility room rather than doing the work I have to do... so now I'... It generally takes me a bit longer to get started on Mondays simply because I tend to have a fuller email in-box to deal with after the weekend (which, force majeur aside, I do try to reserve for non work-related activities).
The overflowing in-box is of course not all work-related but email checking and replying being part of my early-morning ritual, it does tend to take me longer on Mondays.

If you actually take Sunday off work, by Monday you're looking forward to going back to work, at least in my case. I am rested and happy. (Unless you're exhausted after months of heavy work, and you just long to have very long holidays off work)

Mondays, Sundays, Tuesdays, Holidays, Weekends... I really do not know these words. For a translator, the weekend is the day when he/she does not have to deliver a job by the next day.

As I work over weekends, I recognize Mondays by one thing only - customers calling every 15 minutes. Which would be really annoying if not so profitable Still, no real work can be done till the time the prospective customers are off home.
