That's for salaried employees Oct 11, 2010

Freelance job means you need to find your clients, do the job and do it well so the client is happy and keeps you sending more jobs. And nobody will do this for you!

If you're sluggish, none of this can happen.

Sluggish salaried workers only have to drage themselves out of bed in the morning, get to the workplace, then sit at their desks for 7 hours maximum, doing a bit of work here and there. That's enough to keep them in a job and keep the money coming in, at least in France where it is extremely difficult to sack this type of employee.

Try putting so little into your life as a freelancer and what happens? No food on the table, no clothes on your back, the car reclaimed, bailiffs threatening to take the computer, ...

Of course, it depends on what you mean by "sluggish". My husband complains when I start typing at the computer before I've bothered to get dressed, and cleaning my teeth and brushing my hair sometimes get overlooked if a great job offer appears. Is that sluggish?

Non sequitur.
I don't understand the question. As far as I can make out, you could change "sluggish" for any other adjective (fat, grumpy, antisocial, arrogant... etc) and it would remain equally vacuous.

I work harder as a freelancer than I ever did for any company or boss - because my boss is ME now (pax Hacienda)!

because we wouldn't survive.
Nonetheless I often get the feeling that other people think we are since we may not start work before - check the time - 11:30. So either we go through life repeating over and over again that if we chose to start late, that means we will work until late in the evening too, or else stopping to care what other people think about our personal rhythm (my choice).
