Blocked ducts (UK English) - Plugged ducts (US English)

This sounds like blocked ducts, which I suffered from when my children were tiny. This is when the breast goes hard, it feels like there are rocks inside, and the milk comes out with difficulty. If untreated, this can lead to an infection called Mastitis.
Example sentence:

Blocked (milk) ducts can be very painful and need prompt treatment. (you can leave the word 'milk' in or leave it out if it's not needed due to the context).
