En España también se dice "picoteo" pero más, "tentempié" como menciona Abe(L).
Hay mucho vocabulario dependiendo del país y de la región de cada país, pero lo que no se puede emplear es la palabra "bocadillo" en este contexto.

Gente que se toma el tiempo para reflexionar/pensar qué tipo de snack/tentempié van a consumir fuera de las comidas, en contraposición al tipo "indulgente": que le da igual que snack picar o que incluso prefiere las cosas muy azucaradas o grasas
