Localization for an astronaut's vineyard

What happens when a NASA astronaut starts a winery and turns to localization students to help build a bilingual brand?

For this TV event, explore how a group of Translation and Localization Management (TLM) students from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies teamed with Tierra Luna Cellars, a winery founded by former astronaut Jose Hernandez. What started as a classroom project became an immersive, real-world collaboration in localizing marketing content for Wine Country's bilingual community.

Join professor Yelena Proskurin and her students as they share:

  • How an international marketing course became a hands-on learning project
  • The strategy behind building brand awareness in both English and Spanish
  • Creative campaigns that connect heritage, storytelling, and product positioning
  • Lessons learned from working with a real client in a competitive industry
  • Challenges and rewards of remote teamwork in localization
