According to by best placed sources in the Port of Lisbon Arqueador is: "Measuring Officer " or "Gauger"

It is probably a regional variation. My stevedor friends use the first term, but the office seems to use the other one. I jused to give English classes at the top of a gantry crane in the Port of Lisbon, Happy, vertigo, days!
