Portuguese term

a que a vendedora faca jus

Portuguese to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
A frase completa e: As multas eventualmente aplicadas poderao ser descontados a que a vendedora faca jus.

Am I right in thinking that the transaltion would be as follows: Possible imposed fines may be deducted from the payments if the seller sees it fit?

Thanks in advance

Discussion

Mark Robertson May 29, 2012:
More context is needed. Is the vendedora the claimant or the defendant? Faça jus (c cedilha missing from the source text) can mean, to do justice, to be worthwhile and to be better in comparison to another thing.

to which the seller is entitled

The sentence in PT seems to be badly structured/written. Ex. if "descontados" refers to the "multas", it should be "descontadas".

I think the meaning is "The seller is entitled to discounts on any fines which may be applied."

You are right, i live in brazil and your translation seems perfectly fine.
