COLOMBIA. This is all the context I have available. Two lines from a DIAN online form. I am wondering whether this "aviso" is a regional form of "acuse de recibo" (receipt acknowledgement) or if it simply means notice/notification.

I don't see your distinction between "acknowledgment" and "notification". All these near synonyms simply mean confirmation that something has been received, whether it be money at a supermarket till or a digital message.
