The sample with highest antioxidant activity was used. After acclimatization to laboratory conditions for 5 days, the mice were randomly divided into six groups of 12 animals each. The groups of the experimental animals are given in Table 2. All tested samples and ethanol were administered to mice by gavage. This experiment lasted for 12 weeks. After the last administration, we selected fasted animals. Using cardiac puncture, blood samples (1 ml each) were extracted for centrifugation at 3000 rpm for 15 minutes. Centrifuged serum was stored at 4 °C for later use. The livers were excised from sacrificed mice, weighed, and segregated for further studies as needed.
