Comment: "The main objective of the study is referred to in a previous paragraph, and it is "to know the meanings attributed by first-year secondary school students to agreements about coexistence". So I think "focal points" or "key areas" would convey the meaning intended and would not interfere with the linguistic context. Furthermore, I was also uncertain whether "axes" would work here.
