brachiation
Believe it or not! I've often seen this things in children's playgrounds and have even tried them, but I never knew they were called brachiation ladders:
"We wanted to make a brachiation ladder for our children, but when I saw the instructions of how to make one in Glenn Doman’s book, I thought -- I can improve on that design to fit our needs better. "

"Brachiation is defined as locomotion accomplished by swinging by the arms from one hold to another.1 This term is also used to describe the skill developed by children on an overhead ladder."

Brachiation
“Brachiation is the ability to swing from rung to rung on an overhead ladder. This activity is extremely easy for a very young child and extremely difficult for an adult. It is a very valuable ability because it helps the child to create a bigger, better chest and as a result he breathes more deeply, regularly and maturely.” – Glenn Doman & Janet Doman, from the book ‘How Smart Is Your Baby’.
