Spanish term

Constancia de no puesto en la promoción

Spanish to English Other Education / Pedagogy Certificates
This is the title of a certificate that reads as follows:

"La universidad reconoce estímulos académicos y financieros a los estudiantes que obtengan los cinco primeros puestos al finalizar cada periodo académico. Sin embargo, no certifica el lugar que ocupó el estudiante en la promoción en la cual fue admitido".

I'm having difficulties translating this title, especially the "no puesto" bit.
By the way, the certificate is from Colombia.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I agree with Lorena The only thing is that I've spent the last half hour trying to word the phrase. It's quite clear - the first five students (the top five) receive certain benefits but the overall position a student holds in the list (i.e. whether the student finishes the year at the top, middle or bottom of the class) is not entered into the faculty's records.

@ Maria I believe Giovanni has posted his question correctly. This is typical of Colombian Universities they are called "Constancia de no puesto"

Please review and re-post your question. The certification provided by the university does not state what the rank of the student was within his/her group. Your phrase states that the university certifies that the student was not ranked. It does not accurately reflect what the text says: that the university does not state what his/her rank was.

Certificate of Non-Ranking

I think that you can exclude "promoción" from the title becuase it is explained..
This is what I understand:
Certificate of Non-Ranking
The university provides academic and financial incentives to the top five students at the end of each academic period (i.e. semester, quarter, etc)
however, it does not state (however you want to say this) a student's ranking whithin his/hers graduating class

Hope this helps

agree Helena Chavarria : Your suggestion is better for a certificate. Although I knew, I'm afraid I forgot we were discussing a certificate.

Faculty records do not state the positions students hold in the class at the end of the year

I don't know if my suggestion helps at all

Promotion certificate without mention of relative rank

As I understand it, the certificate is stating that the student met the requirements for promotion, and does not include any information about how his performance compared with that of his classmates.
