Hi all,

I am wondering if you have any ideas for an alternative to Aegisub.
I am looking for something that:

-Is compatible with both Windows and Mac
-Is free
-Lets you go forward/backward one frame at a time in the waveform

I really liked Subtitle Edit, but my understanding is that you cannot move
frame by frame in the waveform (if this is not true, please let me know!!)

Thank you!

Subtitle Edit allows you to move frame by frame Aug 6, 2021

Hi there!

You can actually move frame by frame in the waveform in Subtitle Edit.

Go to "Options" > "Settings" > "Shortcuts" > There are tons of shortcuts. You want to look for the ones under "Video". Here you'll see "one frame back" and "one frame forward". By default they aren't set (you'll see "none") next to them, but you can easily set the commands you want in the lower part of the window and click on "Update".
