" For what you say is a scam, with what I should not do anything? Thank you I received the exact same message. I gave her an estimate and got this: "Thank you for getting back. I quite agree with your price quote you give me and I am willing to pay for your service. This project is a research paper being sponsor for a seminar coming up soon, so I would like to make an advance payment or make the full payment so you know you have my job with you. In the mean time, do get back to me with the following payment information in the format below. 1. Full Name to be written on the Check 2.USA Full Physical Address: 3. Get back to me asap and you can send text to me here [phone deleted] (Please only Text) when you send the details." My spider senses started to tingle because the contact hours were way too early in the morning to be from the USA, so I googled the address (which is something I should have done as soon as I got her mail) and got to this forum, which led me to the TRANSLATOR SCAMMERS DIRECTORY. Liviu-Lee Roth wrote: Don't do anything. Stop interacting with the scammers. I've agreed with and quoted you before on this sage advice. Someone else in another scam-alert below added another reason: if you reply then they know your valid email address. An old friend once used the "tar-baby" analogy when giving the advice that it is best to get away from crooks as soon as you can. As soon as you interact at all, you can easily get "stuck" (have to do this, then do that, go to the bank, change your account, etc. etc.). Once you've advised people of the scam here and/or elsewhere, best to even delete the email. | | | Pages in topic: < [1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9] > | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » SCAM: translation of a 11,643-word document (various email addresses, payment with a check) Trados Business Manager Lite | Create customer quotes and invoices from within Trados Studio
