I have an Excel spreadsheet that has graphs and formulas.

The output of the formula is in Danish, but I need this to be English.

Does anyone know how I change the output of the formula to be English?

For example, the formula is:

=TEKST(H3;"Mmmm åååå")

and H3 is:

01-01-2013

So the outcome of the formula is:

Januar 2013

But I want it to be:

January 2013

For dates specifically Dec 6, 2014

If you go to Format > Cells, and set the cell contents format to 'Date', you get a little dropdown box that lets you set the 'region' — which in fact sets the language in which the dates will be expressed.

I'm not sure how 'language' applies to any other formula results, dates are the only ones I can think of where a formula will return a number converted to any form of text.

I think formulas adapt to the environment Dec 6, 2014

They will just be translated automatically when you open the file on a computer where the target language is set as the system language. At least, that is what happened to my accounting system in Excel - I used to have an "English" computer, then I got a new computer, my IT technician automatically set my system language to Czech, transferred my files to the new computer - and my old formulas now appear in Czech (as a result, I don't understand them).
