What's the meaning of this ratio in translation projects? Aug 19, 2013

Almost every project I took since I came to ProZ.com was charged at per source word rate. A few others were charged at per English (target) word.

I have a client who uses XTM, but the price of each project is decided before the phase XTM is involved.
