I have not travelled any place this year, nor do I expect to do so in the second half of 2012.
Should I feel guilty about it? Guess not.

It does make a difference if you consider the European Union as one "country", or at least the Schengen countries.
What is a "country"? A place you need a visa (or customs, or any kind of ID verification) to enter?

Why do ProZians always complicate things? I'm not an English native speaker, but I think the question and the options given are worded in a way that allows anyone to participate, because - unless you live on an airport - pretty much everyone is located in a country at all times.
I don't think this poll is particularly relevant either, but anyway, I voted 2, since I've mostly stayed in my home country this year, except for a daytrip to my closest neighbouring country.

For family reasons, I travel to my home country almost every month, sometimes just for a long weekend, others for up to a week or so. Right now I'm in Portugal, where the weather is lovely, hot and sunny...

I agree with KKastenhuber: the question asks how many countries we've been in, not how many we've been to.
I've been in Greece all year. I spent a few days in Crete a couple of months ago and will probably visit another of the islands before the year is over, but I have no desire to leave the country.

Where have the people been who think the zero option is missing? Flying non-stop since January 1st I guess, or maybe on the space station.
That being said, there are some people here at ProZ who think the place I live is not a country, so maybe I need the zero option.

In the summer we took a week's holiday in the eastern province of Rocha. To get there, after following the coast for 300 km, we had to cross the town of Chuy (Uruguayan name) or Chuí (Brazilian name). We took the "International Avenue", of which two lanes are in Uruguay and two lanes are in Brazil. After leaving the town we headed north for 8 kilometers and reached our hotel. It sits on a hill overlooking a large wetland and, beyond the closest cement marker, most people can't tell where one country ends and the other one begins. The birds don't know either. Needless to say, we enjoyed the beaches in both countries.
Quite recently we spent a weekend in Buenos Aires, capital city of Argentina, which is around 200 km away from Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. In fact the two capitals are closer to each other than to many of the provinces in the respective countries. Weekends "on the other side of the pond" are very frequent: Uruguayans go for the theatre, the energy, the shops; I think Argentines come over for the opposite, the relaxed atmosphere, the beaches.

This kind of poll elicits discussions as relevant as "do you like reality TV shows?" Some people find them enthralling, even educational. Others find it disgusting and a complete waste of time.
That's why I didn't vote on this poll. Most of my colleagues here read my mind.
