Yes, just a bit May 16, 2011

Other May 16, 2011

Perhaps a little aggravated because of late payments and ignored reminders.

Other than that, I'm just somewhat stressed for medical reasons.

Just a bit May 16, 2011

I have an occasional toothache these days which disturbs my concentration. I think it may be a side effect of medical treatment I'm on. I don't really like taking analgesics continually and can't spare the time to visit my usual dentist (too far away, takes too long and anyway am too busy until wednesday)...

Eustress and distress May 16, 2011

I find stress stimulating at first and freelancing involves a lot of positive stress - eustress. When stress is prolonged it becomes negative stress - distress, that leads to adrenal glands fatigue. We must be careful not to cross the border between eustress and distress!

No May 16, 2011

... I have work now and therefore no stress.
The pressure of deadlines and the difficulty of a job are stimulating, not a source of stress.
An empty/slack period of 10 weeks at the beginning of this year caused me enough stress for the rest of my working life

I never am May 16, 2011

Yet I'll be taking the plane for the first time to go on a week long trip with my sweetheart, so I'm really excited, and somewhat stressed.

Fingers crossed, at the moment work is instead helping me to bear the stress caused by other things

ridiculous deadlines May 16, 2011

The only thing that's been stressing me out lately have been these ridiculously tight deadlines, why people can't just plan ahead and contract a translator in advance is beyond my comprehension.
The typical "what with ______ bank holiday, we didn't......" and "Oh yeah we did leave it a bit late to contact you really".
I'm glad for the business but my god get your act together clients!!

Stress is ... May 16, 2011

... having a 15-yr-old son who wants to have dreadlocks done. (Sorry, not sure about the verb here).
At least we won the battle over the lip piercing a few months ago.

Translating is a doddle compared with having teenagers

I can stress myself out May 16, 2011

---about what my children are going to want to do in the future, so Emma's comment hasn't helped! But you won the right victory - dreadlocks don't have to be surgically removed.
