After obtaining a school-leaving diploma in linguistic studies, I enrolled in the faculty of foreign languages and literature in Bari (Puglia, Italy). After that, I spent one year in Reading (United Kingdom) where I worked as a nanny and attended a language course (C1 level) in order to strengthen my master of English. It was one of many extended stays abroad, an experience which enabled me to come into close contact with students from all over the world and to improve considerably my knowledge of English. Back to Italy, I got my master's degree in technical and scientific translation and interpreting at the University of Salento, in Lecce. This period I had the chance to collaborate (firstly as a trainee, then as a translation consultant) with a subtitling services agency located in Rome. Since then, I have been collaborating with them, translating movies that are projected in many festivals all around Italy. Not only do I have work experience in the translation of movies (including every task related to subtitling), but also in market research and general content texts, and academic experience in the translation of medical, technical and scientific texts. Occasionally, I have also worked as a transcriptionist. I can use subtitling softwares (like Subtitle Edit and Aegisub) and work on several types of videos: documentaries, interviews, scientific and technical content videos, news reports, museum guides, conferences and presentations. I also use MemoQ as a CAT Tool. High level of attention to detail, including fixed data (e.g. numerical) transposition checks, spelling, grammar and stylistic fluency.
