Source text - English Among the reasons for the increase in tourism in the 1960s were the stable political atmosphere and the development of Bangkok as a crossroads of international air transportation. The hotel industry expanded rapidly due to tourist demand. International mass tourism sharply increased during the same period due to the rising standard of living, more people acquiring more free time and due to improvements in technology making it possible to travel further, faster, cheaper and in greater numbers, epitomised by the Boeing 747 which first flew commercially in 1970. Thailand was one of the major players in Asia to capitalise on this then-new trend.
Translation - Italian La stabile situazione politica e lo sviluppo di Bangkok quale crocevia del trasporto aereo internazionale sono state tra le ragioni dell'incremento del turismo negli anni '60 ed il settore alberghiero si è esteso rapidamente grazie alla richiesta turistica. Allo stesso tempo il turismo internazionale di massa è cresciuto in maniera significativa con una diffusione del benessere, del tempo libero e dello sviluppo tecnologico che hanno reso possibile il viaggiare più lontano e più rapidamente ed in modo più economico e massiccio, il tutto coronato dall'arrivo del primo volo civile Boeing 747 nel 1970. La Thailandia è stata una delle maggiori fautrici in Asia a rafforzare questa connivenza tra passato e presente.
