Experience
Years of experience: 30. Registered at ProZ.com: Mar 2005.
I have translated and interpreted Korean<>English in a wide variety of contexts, and I really enjoy the work. My experience has primarily been in theology and other service and education-related areas. Although I was born and raised in Korea, I have lived in Australia and now the United States for many years, so have a rather broad grasp of the English language. My current and past work as a pastor has sharpened all areas of my linguistic skills, especially in writing and speaking. People are always a primary concern to me over projects, in that I do my very best to make the communication clear. I am also quite efficient after many years of practice.
I specialize in education, law, medical, insurance, business contract, marketing, literature and Christian theology.
I am accustomed to negotiating with clients for prices that are reasonable for the assigned task. I usually charge around .09 cents a word for Korean>English, but I can reduce that charge for English>Korean since the per word rate is often shorter. For telephone translation, I have generally been paid .75 cents a minute.
