*Filler pages* may be placed in some or all books to cause such book(s) to have a certain number of pages. This may be necessary or desirable to result in a book length which is evenly divisible by four (in the event pages are imposed as two-page spreads) and/or to insure that particular page(s) appear on the left-hand or right-hand side in the finished book.
A variable ("MAXPGS") representing the maximum number of supplied pages that may or may not be assembled into a single book during the job is specified together with the identification of *filler page(s)* that may or may not be printed and assembled at the end of a book either on a left-hand or a right-hand portion thereof.
In the event a page is to be forced to a side, the user is prompted to specify the page file name and page number for a *filler page* to precede the forced page.
