What It’s Like Updating a Classic Like ‘Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne’ for 2021
What’s unique to Nocturne‘s update is how many of the same people who worked on that original game and were central to keeping its tone intact while it left Japan are still working at Atlus, and are part of this new version. It’s rare to see localizers still around for so long, providing an opportunity for Nocturne‘s revival to have the benefit of history and hindsight.

I love SMT and the localisations. What is especially impressive is the way they conveyed the personalities of the demons. All of the dialogue is totally believable, and it's super nice to see how quickly, but believably, the tones in the game can change. Then again, SMT is written well overall!

I still own an original copy of the 2nd chapter of the franchise for the PS2, worth more than 160€ nowadays in the market. I want to sell it, but I never find the time to post an add!
