All apes have relatively longer fingers
and a smaller thumb than humans. Apes who move around in trees by swinging under branches with a hand‑over‑hand motion, such as siamangs, gibbons, and orangutans, have developed long, strong fingers that act like hooks for hanging and swinging. Their thumbs, however, are not well‑developed, possibly because it hinders movement. In contrast, chimpanzees and gorillas, have
thumbs that are well‑developed
and agile.
They allow for a precise grasp as the
thumb and fingers are opposed to each
other. The hands of humans, not used
any longer for climbing, have developed into perfect “grasping instruments”.
Apes use hands and feet not only for
moving, but for many other things.
It’s as if they have four hands, as their
feet have long little toes and a thumb‑like agile big toe. This big toe is much shorter then the other toes, and can actively grasp things. In humans, the feet have lost their ability to grasp in adaptation to a walking upright manner. Our
feet are well‑adapted to bear the whole body weight whereas in other apes the body weight is borne by all four limbs.

Všichni lidoopi mají poměrně delší prsty a menší palec než lidé. Lidoopi, kteří se pohybují po stromech houpavým pohybem mezi větvemi pomocí brachiace, např. siamangové, giboni a orangutani, mají vyvinuté dlouhé a silné prsty pro zachycení a houpání – podobně jako hák. Palec však tolik vyvinut není – zřejmě
proto, že by bránil pohybu. Naopak
palec šimpanze a gorily je velmi dobře
vyvinutý a k tomu i hbitý.
Umožňuje jim přesné sevření, protože je postaven proti ostatním prstům. Z lidské ruky, která již ke šplhání neslouží vůbec, vznikl dokonalý „uchopovací nástroj“.
Lidoopi používají končetiny nejen k pohybu, ale také k mnoha dalším činnostem. Je to, jako by měli čtyři ruce – mají totiž na noze dlouhé malé prsty a jeden velký a hbitý jako palec. Tento velký prst je mnohem kratší než ty ostatní a umí aktivně uchopovat předměty. U lidí ztratily nohy schopnost úchopu a přizpůsobily

Vou can hack a computer, a locked door, an abandoned building, ar even another person. If you're the type who's constantly learning, experimenting, and testing the world around you, you're a hacker, and you may not even know it.
Hackers appear under many different names and disguises. They've been called computer experts, phone phreakers, crackers, white/black hat hackers, social engineers, urban explorers, con artists, stalkers, liars, activists, terrorists, hate groups, spammers, troublemakers, thieves, and criminals. Sut in reality, hackers should also be called police officers, reporters, broadcasters, scientists, students, teachers, writers, philosophers, accountants, lawyers, judges, salespeople, chau¬vinists, feminists, engineers, doctors, and politicians. Everyone's a hacker and everyone knows someone who's.a hacker whether they realize it ar not.
Hackers are adept at managing information in any form, whether iťs stored as a computer program, a written word, a physical object (such as a lock), a set of pro¬cedures, ar thoughts inside somebody's head. Hacking is never a computer issue; iťs always a people issue.
If you get nothing else from this book, please remember this: Vou are being hacked every day of your life-far beyond the simple threats of computer viruses ar identity theft. Advertisers (on billboards and in TV commercials, magazine ads, and the notorious spam and spyware) are trying to rearrange your thinking. Politicians and governments have already shaped your thoughts with the "history" thaťs taught in schools, the "news" they disseminate, and the "Iaws" they pass to restrict your actions. In truth, history is nothing but a set of beliefs, news is nothing but a point of view, and laws are nothing but tools to legitimize the governmenťs behavior.

in Eastern Europe, a bored teenager in Southern California stealing credit card numbers in Internet chat rooms, organized crime syndicates breaking into banks electronically, public relations firms planting phony stories in "reputable" newspapers and magazines, politicians holding press conferences that provide nothing but empty gen¬eralities, or religious leaders saying that the only way to get into heaven is by following their instructions.
The real threat wHI never come from any single, identifiable group of people. The real threat will always come from any individual motivated by dishonesty and greed. Ultimately, hacking teaches you that nobody has your best interests at heart except you. Anyone who tells you otherwise is nothing but a hacker.

Můžete proniknout do počítače, za zamčené dveře, opuštěné budovy nebo dokonce do srdce jiného člověka. Pokud neustále poznáváte svět okolo sebe, experimentujete s ním nebo zkoušíte, kam vás nechá zajít, jste hacker a ani o tom nemusíte vědět.
Hackeři mají mnoho jmen a převleků. Nazvali je už počítačovými experty, telefonními phreakery, crackery, white/black hat hackery, sociálními inženýry, průzkumníky velkoměst, mistry podvodu, stalkery, lháři, aktivisty, teroristy, militantními skupinami, spammery, výrobci problémů, zloději a kriminálníky. Ve skutečnosti by se jim však mohlo říkat policejní důstojníci, reportéři, provozovatelé rozhlasový stanic, vědci, studenti, učitelé, spisovatelé, filozofové, účetní, advokáti, soudci, prodejci, šovinisté, feministé, inženýři, doktoři a - politici. Kdekdo je hacker a kdekdo zná někoho kdo je hacker, ať už si to uvědomuje nebo ne.
Hackeři jsou znalci na to, jak nakládat s informací v jakékoli podobě, ať už je to počítačový program, psané slovo, fyzický objekt (třeba zámek), sled procesů nebo myšlenka uvnitř vaší hlavy. Hacking nikdy není problém počítače – vždy je to problém člověka.
Pokud vám tato kniha nedala nic jiného, zapamatujte si, prosím, tohle: hacking se na vás vrhá dnes a denně po celý váš život, a to v daleko hlubších formách, než je pouhé riziko počítačového viru nebo krádeže identity. Inzerenti a jejich prostředky (billboardy, televizní reklama, inzerce v časopisech a proslulý spam a spyware) se snaží, abyste přemýšleli, jak se to hodí jim. Politici a vlády už vaše myšlenky deformovali "dějinami", které se vtloukají do hlavy na školách, "zprávami" které šíří a "zákony", které vydávají, aby vás omezili. Dějiny nejsou ve skutečnosti nic než snůška domněnek, zpráva není nic než úhel pohledu a zákon není nic než nástroj k legitimizaci chování vlády.
Opravdové riziko nepramení z anonymních band hackerů, kteří se vám snaží zkazit život. Opravdové riziko pramení z anonymních band zločinců, kteří se vám snaží zkazit život, ať už patří ke kruhům zlodějů identity z východní Evropy, ke znuděným puberťákům z jižní Kalifornie kradoucích čísla kreditek v chatroomech na internet, k organizovaným zločinným spolkům pronikajících elektronickou cestou do bank, k P.R. firmám, pašujícím do "seriózních" novin a časopisů lživé pohádky, a konečně k politikům s jejich tiskovými konferencemi, kde se nedozvíte nic konkrétního, jen samé prázdné fráze, nebo k náboženským vůdcům, tvrdícím, že do nebe se dostanete jenom s jejich manuálem.
Opravdové riziko nehrozí ze strany jakékoli jednotlivé identifikovatelné skupiny lidí. Opravdové riziko vždy hrozí ze strany jakéhokoli jedince, jehož motivem je nepoctivost a chamtivost. Hacking vás v podstatě učí, že nikdo to s vámi nemyslí dobře víc než vy sami. Každý, kdo vám říká něco jiného, je hacker.
