Source text - Indonesian Berdasarkan tabel coding dan kategori di atas, dapat dilihat adanya benang merah yang terdapat antar semua jawaban para narasumber tersebut. Adapun benang merah tersebut diperoleh dari cara menghubungkan kategori-kategori yang dibentuk dari berbagai coding yang merupakan inti dari tiap-tiap kutipan jawaban para narasumber.
Para narasumber sama-sama berpendapat bahwa bahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa internasional. Bahasa Inggris dianggap sebagai bahasa pemersatu yang memudahkan komunikasi, terlebih untuk komunikasi antar negara karena bahasa Inggris digunakan sebagai bahasa kedua di banyak negara, seperti Perancis, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia dan lainnya. Hal tersebut sangat berguna untuk membuka peluang kerjasama atau kolaborasi dalam berbagai bidang, baik bidang pendidikan, ekonomi, politik, bisnis, teknologi bahkan hingga bidang non-formal seperti culinary, fashion dan dunia entertainment.
Sebagian besar narasumber lebih menekankan pada fungsi bahasa Inggris dalam bidang teknologi. Bahasa Inggris dipandang sebagai bekal yang wajib untuk menguasai science dan teknologi. Teknologi tidak dapat dilepaskan dari internet sebagai sarana untuk memperoleh informasi tanpa terbatasi ruang dan waktu. Di sini, bahasa Inggris berperan untuk membantu kita memahami cara kerja dan pengoperasian internet. Oleh karena itu, bahasa Inggris menjadi salah satu syarat untuk bersaing di era globalisasi seperti sekarang ini.
Lebih lanjut mengenai daya saing, bahasa Inggris juga menjadi kemampuan yang penting untuk dikuasai setiap individu. Bahasa Inggris dapat membantu kita untuk mencari pekerjaan, meningkatkan kemampuan kita dalam menyerap informasi ataupun belajar. Studi ke luar negeri seperti ke Singapura, Eropa, Amerika atau lainnya tentunya membutuhkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris yang memadai karena semua pembelajaran dan materinya menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Hal ini sungguh wajar karena bahasa Inggris merupakan perantara pembelajaran yang berperan untuk menghubungkan dan mentransfer ilmu ke seluruh penjuru dunia.
Bahasa Inggris juga dapat membantu mengembangkan kualitas intrapersonal setiap individu seperti dapat lebih mudah bersosialisasi dan juga meningkatkan sifat-sifat positif diri seperti membuat seseorang lebih bijaksana dan percaya diri. Dari berbagai macam manfaat tersebut, dapat dirasakan bahwa jika kita menguasai bahasa Inggris, kita akan selangkah lebih maju untuk meraih tujuan, baik itu menjadi sukses karir, mengembangkan kelangsungan bisnis, menambah koneksi dan juga untuk go international.
Translation - English Based on the table containing the codings and the categories above, it can be observed that there is such a connecting line between all the answers from the interviewees. The connecting line was obtained by connecting the categories that had been formed from various codings which were the essentials from every quote of the interviewees’ answers.
The interviewees gave similar opinions that English is the international language. English is considered as a unifying language that facilitates communication, especially for the communication between countries since English is used as the second language in many countries, such as France, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and others. Such thing is of a great benefit to open the opportunities for cooperations or collaborations in various aspects from the educational, economical, political, business and technological aspects even to the non-formal aspects, namely culinary, fashion and the world of entertainment.
Most of the interviewees emphasized the function of English in technological aspect. English is regarded as a required prerequisite to master the science and technology. The technology cannot be separated from the internet which acts as a means to obtain information without any limitations in terms of space and time. English, in this case, takes a role to help us to understand how the internet works and operates. Therefore, English becomes one of the requirements to compete in this current globalization era.
Furthermore, in term of competitiveness, English also becomes an ability that is important to be acquired by every individual. It can help us to find jobs as well as improve our skills in assimilating information or learning. Studying abroad to Singapore, Europe, United States of America or others, for instance, certainly requires an adequate English ability as the learnings and materials use it entirely. Such thing is reasonable because English is the medium for learning that takes a role to link and transfer the knowledge to all parts of the world.
English can also help to develop the intrapersonal qualities of every individual, such as being able to socialize more easily as well as improving the positive characteristics, making someone wiser and more confident. From those various kinds of benefits, it can be perceived that if we master English, we will go one step ahead to reach the goals, such as being successful in career, developing business continuity, adding connections and being able to go international as well.
