The capitalization threw me, too, and I found quite a few sites referring to this, some with "Bellotas" and some with "bellotas"; I think it is just a matter of choice or of making them sound more important...

Según lo que he leído, la provincia de Bajadoz se destaca por sus bellotas, las cuales son una fuente de alimentación para la población local. En inglés sería "acorn" ya que los "pine cones" no se comen.
