Latin term

in status permanisse

Latin to English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
Constat XXX durante tempore quo commoratus est in hac Archidioecesi solutum ac in status permanisse, nulloque vinculo martimoniali illigatum at nulla censura seu impedimento innodatum esse.

solutum - I understand as SINGLE here, but what is IN STATUS then?

Thank you in advance!

Peer comment(s):

agree Joseph Brazauskas : I concur that this is the likely meaning, although 'status' should be 'statu' (ablative).

agree Olga Cartlidge : I think they re trying 2 say that while he was there he remained single / committment free and his situation was such that he was not bound by any matrimonial obligations neither was he reprimanded or experience any setbacks. Should be "in statu" - sure.
