A movement and style of art from the 20th century which attempts to reduce art to the basic geometric shapes with the fewest colors, lines, and textures. Minimal art does not seek to be representational of any object.

Minimalizam ili Minimalna umetnost (1960-1975), je umetnički pokret koji odbacuje u umetnosti, komentarisanje društva, lični izraz umetnika, narativne elemente ili aluzije na istoriju, politiku ili religiju. Bazira se na stvaranju predmeta, slika i skultura čija je vrednost isključivo estetskog karaktera. Minimalisti su ograničili svoje delovanje na manipulaciju elemenata kao što su boja, tonovi, oblici, linije i tekstura.
