You can exercise a bit of creativity with this phrase, e.g.,

تبدو عدا ذلك مثل البلاد الآسـيوية النمطية

Notice that بلاد is the plural of بلد (not very commonly understood by many).

Some people prefer to translate "country" to دولة. I typically do not.

"Otherwise" always refers to a prior notion that needs no clarification, but some writers fail the test of clarity. The expression عدا ذلك likewise refers to a prior notion, even if the writer failed to make it clear.
