No, I can't imagine anything more boring than watching a group of grown men kicking a ball around a patch of grass and besides I don't have a television. However, I took time off last week to attend a theatre festival which was much more my cup of tea.

If I have to work or decide to do so, I can have the TV on in the background if I like. But I probably won't.

I rarely "take time off work" for anything anyway, other than serious stuff like friends or relations needing help or support.

If I take a break, it's to do something more interesting than watching guys running after a ball or supporters fighting ..

I'll probably take the chance to work or do something else while my husband watches - he likes to see at least one good match each day. He used to play football quite seriously until stopped by an injury.

I make tea now and then and watch while I drink mine, just to keep him company, then I leave him to it. My attitude to football is 'seen one match, you've seen 'em all...'

Normally I wouldn't care much but... Jun 14, 2018

... this time I just hope that it's over soon so all my non-Italian "friends" stop rubbing it in. You can't imagine the amount of sarcasm I have to endure from my ICELANDIC neighbours.

I hope to avoid the whole thing Jun 14, 2018

I detest all team sports! The ones that interest me are all about the individual: motor racing (particularly the types I used to do) and the racquet sports - where I stretch a point to include doubles. Fortunately, my husband agrees with me about the team sports. Unfortunately, our neighbourhood is football mad, to the point of the various nationalities flying their national flags during this sort of event. I just hate that. And most of the music bars have TVs too, so the musicians have to wait ... See more

And most of the music bars have TVs too, so the musicians have to wait until the match ends and the cheering/jeering has died down before they can play.Collapse

I don't care about football :P Jun 14, 2018

I could say I'm like because I don't care about football at all! That's why I'm not going to take a break
If it had been about something else such as baseball, I probably would have watched it 😎

Work and my education have priority and if there is time left I'll just play a video game.

I will definitely be "watching some or all of the World Cup", but I will not be ditching any work or commitments just because of a football match.

I will catch whatever I can, that's good enough for me.

I will definitely watch some Jun 14, 2018

I have just watched the opening ceremony. I will have the TV while I do some administrative tasks.
For sure, I will watch all 3 Costa Rica matches. Fortunately, most of the matches are very early in the morning (6 am CRC time) so I won't have to interrupt my work.

And I won't be staying up all night here in Australia to watch either. Not my cup of tea.
