All of the above Jan 24, 2018

I love translating. I learn something new almost every day. It keeps my brain stimulated. I get to do all the things I want to do when I want to. The money is good.

The list contains, but is not limited to, all the reasons that make me love my job.

I said "other" but... Jan 24, 2018

I really agree with Muriel and Angie - it is all of it. The "other" would have been feeding (never satisfying) my lively curiosity.

Can't pick just one Jan 24, 2018

I love the act of translating, the research which underpins it, learning new things, working from home, being my own boss, the complete lack of office gossip, being able to work to my own ethical and quality standards, and many other reasons.

more than one Jan 24, 2018

I like being my own boss, I like working from home, I like working with languages, this job was my idea of "what job do you want to do?" when I was 15...
So i just love all of it

All together Jan 24, 2018

The best thing in it is that I can work anywhere with mobile Internet and a notebook.

One more thing Jan 24, 2018

Taking breaks to answer Proz polls, of course!

Just try doing that with an in-house translation job.

Obvious Jan 24, 2018

You already know the percentage of some poll questions before you see them. This one is obvious. Can't possibly choose a single option.

I did, every day! My boss didn't care what I did so long as I kept up my productivity. I was twice as fast as my colleagues and I produced well in excess of my target numbers. In fact, I started surfing instead of working for a couple of hours a day because the boss refused to give me a pay rise. I only found out that I was translating far more than my colleagues because he started bullying them to get them to work as fast as me, and that was the point at which I decided to slack off. A painful while later I managed to get made redundant.
