I am a native speaker of English and also fluent in Portuguese, French and Spanish. As a translator and editor I am highly experienced and versatile (see my website), with a particular interest in the subject areas of current affairs (politics, economics, international relations, environment), travel and sport. In recent years I have translated two books: the memoirs of Brazil's former foreign minister Celso Amorim ( Acting Globally, published by Hamilton Books in 2017), and Bringing Down Gaddafi (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014) by the Brazilian journalist Andrei Netto. In addition to my wide-ranging freelance experience I was also employed by the Brazilian embassy in London as an editor and translator between 2003 and 2017. I lived in Portugal and Brazil for seven years, I have close family connections with France, and I am a frequent visitor to Spain. |
