French term or phrase: stratégie décisionnelle
This term appears in a number of related documents on the management of the symptoms of dementia. It is explained as follows: "La stratégie décisionnelle consiste à offrir à la personne l'occasion de faire des choix dans la mesure de ses possibilités (p. ex. voulez-vous porter la robe bleue ou la verte?)." My searches have been fruitless. Any help would be appreciated. TIA.

decision-making strategy

Explanation:
Just an option to consider, whether it's referring to the patient's or clinician's strategy. You would need to check the other references to see if it fits the logic.
