What about "move the mouse pointer onto term 1 in the source document, hit a hotkey (or - even faster - mouse button #4 or #5) ..."? See https://www.proz.com/forum/translator_resources/330716-ever_want_to_compare_two_google_searches_on_the_same_page_side_by_side.html#2764424

thanks, very useful way to compare on same screen! Dec 10, 2018

Thank you, Michael, for creating the two Google search windows on the same screen and sharing it with us! It's so generous of you to show us what it looks like and give us access to your beta page!

I think it's much, much faster than all the other suggestions, which require extra clicks and resizing.

I'd really like to set up something just like it -- can you tell us how you set it up? I don't want to bother you by going to your webpage every time to do the comparison.<

Sorry, wasn't monitoring this thread! Anyway, to create it, I used Google's custom search engine page (a.k.a. 'Programmable Search'):

See: https://cse.google.co.uk/cse/create/getcode?cx=17cddc394c97d0667

I generated the search code there, and then used the code in a left.html and right.html frame, and combined them in a container.html file.

Here are the individual files:

https://beijerpedia.com/GoogleCompare/left.html (= left search frame)
https://beijerpedia.com/GoogleCompare/right.html (= right search frame)
https://beijerpedia.com/GoogleCompare/index.html (= container page)

...which yields:

https://beijerpedia.com/GoogleCompare/ (try it out!)
