Hi, everyone, I have been trying to download some web pages to quote their translation for some customers, but I cannot open them after saving the pages with \"Save as..\". Is there any way to download a web page and do the word count with Trados? I know static pages are no problem, but what about dynamic ones? Any help will be greatly appreciated. | | | Pilar T. The best way is to use a program called WebBudget. It works for 15 days before you have to buy a registration code. You download the site and then analyze it with this program and it tells you exactly how many words you have per page.

Hello,
downloading web site will bring you only the file whoch are composed from the web server for your browser. often the original files a complete different from the downloaded files. So ask your client for sending the files which he want to translate.

I just want to put some emphasis on Hans reply. He is totally right. You will not get anywhere a correct word count by downloading dynamic pages from a web site.

Otherwise, you will spend a sh.t lot of time and the word count will probably be very wrong.
Once you have the proper files, you will find it rather easy to get a wordcount using any of the software mentionned earlier ▲ Collapse | | | Free website word count tool | Nov 3, 2009 |
